Dear Members,

For our 1st CPD session in August, Ajay Shroff will be presenting on insurance risk management. Ajay has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance sector and has provided insurance broker services to a multitude of businesses. Ajay will focus on business risk and how the right insurance cover can help mitigate the business risk. Ajay has great working and industry knowledge and will delve on his experience in this session to help members understand the intricacies in business risk management.

This will be followed by a presentation, by CA Nimish Matani, on team building and mentorship. Nimish has completed his mentorship program with CA-ANZ and is an accredited mentor with CA-ANZ. Nimish will provide an orientation to the mentorship program which could provide an impetus for career progression.

 

About the Speakers:

Ajay Shroff

Ajay is an  experienced insurance professional with more than 25 years of experience within insurance and reinsurance across a broad spectrum of corporate environments, ranging from small business to multinational companies. Ajay has held key positions in managing insurance risks and is now self-employed as an insurance broker. Ajay is proficient in a range of areas including technical insurance, claims & premium administration, data management, financial management practices and procedures, budgeting and management support.

Please join Ajay for an insightful session on Managing Business Risks through the right insurance cover.  Through a combination of analytical skills and a sound knowledge of insurance products, Ajay provides a comprehensive service to a variety of clients gaining an understanding of their requirements to source products that are suitable to the customer’s terms and coverages.

CA Nimish Matani

Nimish is a registered mentor in the CAANZ mentoring program both for aspiring Chartered Accountants and managers on organisational Boards. Nimish is a strategic and innovative professional with 20+ years of experience in finance, audit, human resources, risk and treasury. He was awarded CAANZ Fellowship in 2019 and is an energetic leader, instilling outstanding teamwork, training, mentoring, accountability, loyalty, and the passion to perform. Nimish believes in collaborating with stakeholders to optimise efficiency and has specialisation working across the entire finance function including risk and governance within Education, Public Sector, Hospitality and Professional services sectors.

Nimish has expertise in facilitating and providing training to professionals aspiring to become CA or CPAs in Australia through his long and continuous engagement with CAANZ and CPA. He is a subject matter expert with CPA Australia at their Foundation and Professional levels.
