About the Speakers:
Shane Bell
Shane is a partner at McGrath Nicol and is passionate about the intersection of Technology, Information and Risk; and for the last 20 years has specialised in managing Cybersecurity and Information Risks in often challenging and sometimes highly stressful situations, including many large, complex and high profile Cybersecurity and Forensic assignments.
Shane applies the depth of his experience in the "front end" of Cybersecurity, helping clients build and execute Cyber strategies that aim for resilience; to protect information and systems through the effective use of good cybersecurity and risk management techniques. Shane proactively advises his clients especially in times of crisis or incidents, calling upon his extensive military training and “special situations” experience, to help clients execute response and recovery plans aiming to mitigate the impact of both cyber incidents and privacy data breach events.
Shane is a recognised Cyber and Digital Forensic Expert in both legal and regulatory settings and is often called upon to act as an Independent Expert and prepare expert reporting for those purposes, having presented evidence in Court on numerous occasions.Neil Matani
Neil is a Technology and Cyber Analyst at McGrath Nicol with experience in Cyber Incident Response, Governance and Cyber Maturity assessments. Assisting in multiple Incident Response matters for Australian organisations, Neil has experience in urgent on-site initial response and containment, collecting and analysing forensic artifacts, root cause analysis, and breach assessments.
Specialising in delivering tactical and strategic solutions, Neil has helped Australian organisations across a variety of industries including Government, understand their cyber risk and compliance based on industry standards such as NIST, ISO27001/2 and the ACSC Essential 8.
